Working with Young People

Windows for Peace

Windows For Peace UK has recently produced a lively new resource pack for facilitators working with young people from Muslim, Palestinian, Arab and Jewish backgrounds.  Its activities are designed to promote dialogue between young people between 15 and 21, focussing on the situation in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories.  It was written by young people, youth workers and adults from the different communities and, at the launch (pictured) in Manchester, some of those involved presented the pack.
The material does not take a political line over issues but encourages discussion and the development of skills to understand diverse views.

Copies of the pack are available for £12.50 plus £1.25 p & p for all orders by purchase order; 10% reduction for 5 or more. Only £10 plus £1.25 p&p for orders paid for by cheque or cash.
To order packs please send a cheque to Judith Emanuel, co-ordinator, Windows for Peace UK Youth Dialogue Group, PO Box 177, Manchester M21 9YP or contact judith@windowsforpeaceuk.org
Windows for Peace is also running a series of Facilitation Training in these issues, using Israeli and Palestinian trainers. This will take place at Warrington Peace Centre on Saturday 25th April and Sunday 26th April and 10th May and is for all those with young people from Jewish, Muslim, Palestinian and/or Arab communities who are concerned about what is happening in Israel and Palestine.

Leading Jerusalem Inter Faith Activist in London

 Rabbi Ron Kronish

The main obstacle to inter faith dialogue between Israelis and Palestinians in the region is the physical impossibility of meeting together. One of the leading figures in inter faith work, Rabbi Dr Ron Kronish, Director of the Inter Religious Co-ordinating Council of Israel, addresses this through a range of programmes involving Muslims and Christians (mostly from East Jerusalem) and Jews. The work includes women’s groups and young people’s projects, and also provides briefings for a range of groups from abroad.
Ron will be in London on 23rd April. If you are interested in hearing him, please look out for details here on the Fodip website or contact the office: 020 7939 2004.
